An experimental study on intercoronary reflexes.

چکیده
There is no evidence in the anesthetized dog that occlusion of one of the three coronary arteries leads to vasoconstriction in the vascular areas irrigated by the other two arteries. On the contrary, occlusion of one coronary artery appears to lead to a decrease in the resistance of the two adjacent vascular beds in most experiments. The mechanisms and the implications of this effect arc discussed.

The experimental production of intercoronary arterial anastomoses and their functional significance.
Animal experiments were done to learn the degree of coronary narrowing required to produce the larger intercoronary collateral channels, their speed of development, and the degree of protection afforded the myocardium. Twelve or more days of 75 per cent narrowing were required to produce sufficiently rich anastomotic communications to protect the myocardium from damage, and to permit survival a...

Coronary angiography demonstrated critical coronary lesions in the proximal part of the left anterior descending artery and the mid-portion of the diagonal ...

This study was undertaken to assess the effect of collateral circulation on myocardial blood flow (MBF) reserve (ability to increase myocardial blood flow with a stress that increases myocardial oxygen requirements). One hundred patients had MBF measured at rest and after isoproterenol. After classification by anatomic severity of coronary artery disease (CAI), the groups were further compared ...
متن کاملEffects of Selective Coronary Embolization on Coronary Blood Flow and Coronary Sinus Venous Blood Oxygen Saturation in Dogs WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO CORONARY REFLEXES
• Reflex mechanisms affecting the coronary circulation have been postulated and described as participating in the profound fall in blood pressure frequently attending cardiogenic shock following acute coxxmary occlusion. The reflex mechanisms suggested as being responsible for potentiating the cause of sudden death in coronary artery disease are: (1) an intercoronary reflex, which is believed t...

Abstract : Intercoronary communication or coronary arcade is a rare congenital coronary artery anomaly in which there is an open-ended circulation with unidirectional or bidirectional blood flow between two coronary arteries. A 85-year-old woman was admitted to the emergency service with typical chest pain. There was no evidence of transmural myocardial infarction in the results of electrocardo...
